It's a new era for Kime Buzzelli.
The artist and owner of the Show Pony boutique in Echo Park, Calif. is closing one chapter and opening another. Over the years, the L.A.-based artist and designer has become as well known for her watercolor portraits as her hipster boutique. This weekend marked the opening of an exhibition featuring Buzzelli's artwork at Gallery Space and the closing of Show Pony which has been a fashion mainstay in the hip Los Angeles district for the last nine years. The exhibition titled "Disappear Here: The Art & Fashion of Getting Caught in a Dangle" features 19 new paintings with the artist's signature party girls wearing smudged makeup in a dreamy swirl of colors. Buzzellis' paintings have been featured in Flaunt and Nylon and debuted at Art Basel In Miami last Oct. She plans to continue her foray into the art world and has several projects in the works including collaborations with Urban Decay and Vans. Look for Vans' hipster chic tees, handbags and high tops set to hit stores this Fall.
Congratulations Kime - I wish you a very, very chic new beginning!
