Fashion's Night Out is set to kick off tonight around the world. Where will you be? From New York to Paris, Sydney and Los Angeles fashionistas will be out and about celebrating the global shopping event. There will be runway shows, designer and celebrity appearances, after-parties and plenty of shopping. In Los Angeles there are over 200 fashion retailers participating in the event spearheaded by Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America. There is a multitude of events to choose from including vintage pop-up shops, designer boutiques and Rodeo Drive's extravaganza complete with a ferris wheel! The trick is knowing where to go and what time to be there. To be prepared for tonight's event, check ApparelNews.net, www.fno.lacity.org or the official Fashion's Night Out website for events happening in L.A., across California and every city around the world. Here are a few of the events I'm looking forward to tonight.
"So I wake up in the morning and I feel black on the inside so I will wear black, have my hair high above my head with a puppet lobster stuck in the centre of it. If I feel really light, happy and beautiful I'll wear something very colourful with rainbows and sparkles and have messy eyeliner and wear my hair like Peggy Moffitt. It really depends on what the day is........" - Lady Gaga
There's no doubt Lady Gaga has a fearless sense of style. Her personal style reflects her moods, her creativity and her unique ability to push the edge on fashion. Her collaborations with stylist Nicola Fomichetti and photographer Nick Knight are some of the most cutting edge images created today. Most recent is a meat-clad look featured on the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan which is undeniably provocative. And then there's the shoot featuring her rumored alter ego Jo Calderone. Indeed Gaga keeps us guessing! Ultimately her unique fearless approach to dressing challenges and expands the typical notions of style. What will she do next?!! To see the full shoot and read an interview with Gaga and her thoughts on style go to Nicola Formichetti's blog. And to learn more about her alleged alter ego Jo Calderone, check The Cut.
