“Submarine” is a movie to put on your radar. The highly original coming of age story is the debut feature of up and coming British filmmaker Richard Ayoade. It received rave reviews at the Toronto Film Festival and BFI London Film Festival before landing at the Sundance Film Festival this week. The Weinstein Company picked up the film which is set to hit the big screen in the UK in late March and will be released in the U.S.this year. Some have likened it to Wes Anderson's hit feature “Rushmore,” and judging from the photos it should should soon inspire hipsters to take styles cues from the Brits. I caught up with Ayoade at the “Submarine” premiere party at Sundance for a quick chat about the film. See below for the Q&A and a sneak peek of the flick.
