What's my chic denim pick for Spring '14? MiH Jeans.
I was invited to preview the iconic British brand's latest collection at the Soho House last week and I am obsessed. Founder and Creative Director, Chloe Lonsdale was on hand for the preview and guided me through the collection. Lonsdale is continuing her family's denim legacy. Her godfather originally founded the Made in Heaven brand in 1969 and her father's Jean Machine stores, which launched in the '70s, are legendary. Lonsdales parents, Tony and Chekkie, are credited for the denim revolution in the UK, so it's no surprise that Lonsdale has denim in her genes. Today the London-based lifestyle brand, which she re-launched in 2006, epitomizes the '70s chic look of her model mother and style icons such as Jane Birkin, Anita Pallenberg and Marianne Faithful, who were fans of the chic, tailored denim line. Lonsdale told me "the common thread is that denim is at the heart of the business...and the clothing reflects the ethos of denim." The collection continues many of the original fits, pocket details and high rise silhouettes, yet styles are updated for today's modern woman with innovative washes, chic lines and beautiful fabrications. When you buy pieces from this collection, rest assured they will be classics that are well worth the investment. I discovered the perfect white silk shirt, a chic boyfriend jean as well as a unique ombre croc print dress. And did I mention the new Body Con jean? It's uber sexy and ever so chic! Made with a high-tech, coil-spring stretch fiber, it not only holds you in, but springs back into shape. Ladies, you will love the skinny fit - a 'go to' for day to night dressing. I can't wait for the collection to hit stores this Spring! Here are some of my favorite looks from the preview at the Soho House LA.
